At an NYC event today, Sony unveiled its new multitouch all-in-one, the VAIO L. Being Sony’s first multitouch PC, the VAIO L is being dubbed as part PC and part HDTV, with a TV tuner, Blu-ray playback, and a 24-inch WUXGA (1920×1080) widescreen panel. An option for HDMI input is available and the multitouch all-in-one will come loaded with Sony’s software similar to HP’s TouchSmart. Available October 22, this new VAIO will start at $1300.

After six months of holding out, Sony has finally came to their sense and released a netbook, the Sony VAIO W. This system is being released in Japan with a 10.1 inch screen (1366 x 768 resolution), 1.6GHz Atom, 1GB of Ram, 160GB HDD (5400rpm), and runs Windows XP. This netbook also features wireless N, A2DP stereo Bluetooth, and a pair of USB ports. Price is still unknown, but we don’t expect it to be north of $500.

Sony unveils VAIO Photo Frame

At CEDIA today, Sony unveiled a recently Japan only digital photo frame. Rebranded as the VAIO CP1 Wi-Fi photo frame, this device not only displays your pictures over Wifi, but also allows for internet radio streaming and Rss feeds integration. This digital photo frame will debut mid-October for a price tag of $300. In the meantime, here are some specs:

  • 7-inch LCD screen
  • The screen has 16 million colors and a resolution of 800×480
  • 128MB internal storage
  • Connects to Google Picasa Web Albums
  • You can display images from SD cards, CompactFlash, or digital cameras
  • RSS reader built-in
  • Built-in stereo speakers and an Internet radio player
