It was shown in this Toys R Us ad and also in this Best Buy ad, however there is solid proof that the Nintendo Wii price will be $199 starting Sunday September 27th. Since it’s launch, the Nintendo Wii has been selling for $249 and is the best selling console when compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360. According to the memo, Nintendo will be making the price drop announcement this Friday.
Earlier this week, we saw the price drop in a Toys R Us ad, now the new price is being shown again by Best Buy. Real or fake? You’ll have to decide on that until a confirmation is made about the new $199 price of the Nintendo Wii.
With recent price cuts from both Sony and Microsoft, is Nintendo feeling the pressure for a price cut of it’s own? At least this ad seems to say so. In this Toys R Us ad, the Nintendo Wii seems to be sporting a new price tag of $199.99. With sales of the console dropping significantly and holiday season right around the corner, this seems like the perfect move for Nintendo to keep sales of the Wii at a very high number. However, the price above has not been confirmed, so this falls under rumor for now.
