Logitech UE Air Speaker officially unveiled with AirPlay support and Ultimate Ears branding

A mysterious AirPlay speaker from Logitech first surfaced briefly on Amazon UK back in October, but today the company is making things official with the announcement of the UE Air Speaker. An all-black device equipped with dual tweeters and woofers, the Air Speaker marks Logitech’s first move into the AirPlay market, allowing users of compatible Apple products to wirelessly stream uncompressed audio to the speaker over Wi-Fi. Set-up is achieved with the company’s free UE Air iOS app, and the sleek speaker also includes a traditional dock for playback and charging.

Vizio announces two new Google TV set-top boxes, picks up where the Logitech Revue left off

Vizio announced the company’s support for Google TV with two new set-top boxes at the Consumer Electronics Show on Tuesday. The Vizio VAP430 Stream Player picks right up where the Logitech Revue left off, and will turn any TV into a smart TV. Vizio’s second set-top box adds a Blu-ray player to the mix and looks to compete with Sony’s new Blu-ray Google TV device. The Vizio VBR430 is labeled as “one of the most advanced 3D Blu-ray players on the market,” with access to the web, apps, and the ability to play the latest Blu-ray 3D movies. Logitech Revue units DOA for some customers, corrupted firmware to blame

Certain customers who recently purchased the Logitech Revue Google TV set top box with the hope of transforming their normal TV into a web-ready smart TV have been left with nothing but disappointment. Logitech has confirmed that a small percentage of recently manufactured Revue devices were shipped with “corrupted firmware,” preventing select customers from activating their new devices. The box would drop its connection when attempting to access the company’s license agreement, leading many to originally believe it was a mere server error. Logitech has stated that there is no fix besides physically swapping an affected Revue box with a working one, however. Logitech to release realistic Guitar Hero controller for the Xbox 360

It showed up first for the PS2/PS3, but now it’s ready to come out for another console. Sometime in August, Logitech is set to release their realistic Guitar Hero controller for the Xbox 360. The guitar is said to be a solid build featuring a wood neck, a rosewood fingerboard and metal frets. The guitar will also include a touch sensitive slider and boast a range of 30 feet.
