Apple’s iTV launch reportedly hampered by display availability

Apple’s iTV launch reportedly hampered by display availability

Apple has been widely rumored to be readying a Siri-enabled television for release this year, but a new report claims component availability issues will prevent the highly anticipated “iTV” from launching in the first half. According to the site’s sources, upcoming HDTV models from Samsung and LG will occupy much of the OLED panel capacity during the first half, so Apple has chosen to instead utilize IGZO panels. Sharp is reportedly not yet ready to mass produce its

iPad 3 to pack Retina Display, FaceTime HD, 8 megapixel camera and push iPad 2 to $399?

What would the Consumers Elec be without Apple rumors overshadowing most of the announcements? iLounge‘s Jeremy Horwitz has taken to Twitter to break down some of the leaked iPad 3 information he’s hearing. First off, it’s being reported that in addition to the rear camera on the iPad 3 being dramatically upgraded to be on par with the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S camera, the front-facing camera will allow for FaceTime HD video chatting.
