Watch Flash videos on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch

Apple iPad 3G

It’s no secret by now that Apples’ iOS devices will not play nice with flash and there is no hope for the future. However, with a little help using Javascript, you can play most flash videos that are usually just blank spaces when browsing a site on an iOS device. To do so, just follow the simple steps below and give it a try.

  1. Open up Safari and go to “http://iosflashvideo.fw.hu/” on your iOS device.
  2. Add this page as a bookmark by tapping the “+” button, then by “Add Bookmark” and hit “Save”.
  3. Now go to your bookmarks in Safari and hit the “Edit” button and select “iOSFlashVideo” to edit it.
  4. In the URL area, delete everything before “JavaScript” and hit Done.
  5. Now visit any web page the has a flash video, usually there will be a blank white space on the page, and select “iOSFlashVideo” from your bookmarks.
  6. If everything is done properly, your video should now load and you’ll be enjoying Flash videos without the need to Jailbreak your iOS device.

ClamCase turns iPad into laptop

iPad ClamCase

Since the release of the iPad, some have been wishing for a dock that turns the thing into a laptop, making it more productive. Well, those wishes have been granted with the ClamCase. Basically, you dock the iPad on the “all-in-one keyboard, case and stand for the iPad” and what you get is a decent looking laptop. Connecting the keyboard to the iPad is done via Bluetooth, which means the 30-pin connector is free to charge your iPad or sync with iTunes. The case, made of “high quality ABS plastic” also features 360-degree hinges, allowing you to rotate the iPad any way you want. Jump after the break and see the ClamCase in action.

Apple iPad review

Apple iPad review

Apple iPad

It’s been rumored about for years. It was speculated that it carried various names. The idea was even tried by the company many years ago and it failed. However,  known for revolutionizing the music and mobile phone industry, Apple set it sight on another market, aiming to achieve similar success. On January 27th, they revealed their latest creation, the Apple iPad. Initial reaction was very split, you either hated it or you couldn’t wait to get one. Many criticized the thing for it’s lack of an SD card slot, a USB port, a camera, and the obvious miss of leaving a camera off. Of course this wouldn’t be an Apple product if they gave us everything we ask for on a first gen device.

Fast forward a few months and the iPad has finally been released to the public and on the first day of launch, Apple managed to squeeze out 300,000 units. Wether the launch number can be viewed as a success or not, selling 300,000 units of anything is quite impressive, especially on the first day alone. Here at Tech Kritik, we got a 64GB model and have been testing this baby out day and night.

Lenovo, HP, Dell Integrating SDXC Readers

Lenovo, HP, Dell Integrating SDXC Readers

SDXC

The new SDXC  announced earlier this year will begin to replace SDHC in 2010. The new memory cards will be able to support speeds as high as 300MB/s and capacities as large as 2TB.  The new SDXC readers will also be backwards compatible. This means that SDXC readers will be able to read SDHC, SD, and MMC, so its a win win situation. According to Dailytech, Lenovo, HP, and Dell are actively working on laptops with SDXC support, but no information is available yet from Apple or how soon SDXC will make its way into MacBooks.

Courier: Microsoft’s new take on the tablet

Courier: Microsoft’s new take on the tablet

Microsoft Courier Tablet

We’ve all heard the rumors of the long overdue Apple tablet. However, until recently, rumors have been going crazy about a Microsoft tablet. Microsoft has always been a big fan of tablets, supporting them heavily with Windows versions for such devices. The new tablet project has only been deep inside Microsoft, until now. Codenamed Courier, the product is real and is in the “late prototype” stage. So what does this tablet offer in comparison to others? First of all, it features dual 7-inch displays that are multitouch, support flicking and drawing with a stylus, designed for writing, and works great with fingers. The list goes on with a camera on the back and wireless charging similar to the Palm Pre. With products such as the Surface, Zune HD, Windows 7, and now the Courier tablet, it’s very clear that Microsoft is shifting into high gear when it comes to design and touch technology. Demo video of the product after the break.
