RCA’s EZ209HD Small Wonder HD camcorder shipping now

Announced during CES, RCA is finally releasing the EZ209HD. Coming in at around 0.5 inches thick, the EZ209HD captures video at a resolution of 1,280 x 720 (H.264) and still images at 8 megapixels. This camcorder also has a built-in HDMI connection and a 2” LCD display for instant viewing. As far as memory goes, this only offers 256MB of internal storage, so you would probably need an SDHC card if you want to shoot video longer than 5 minutes. The EZ209HD is shipping to retailers now and will cost under $100.

Zune rumors have been flying lately and this is another one that has some intersting news. According to WMPoweruser, the above image is a leaked shot of the upcoming ZuneHD. As far as specs go, the leaked information lead us to believe the ZuneHD will include:

  • A capacitive, multi-touch OLED screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
  • TV out in the form of an HDMI port.
  • HD Radio
  • HD Media Playback (content available through Zune Marketplace).
  • Support for 3d Xbox games.
  • Will be available in 16 and 32 GB versions.
  • Include wireless sync.
  • Offer a multi-touch web browser.
  • Available in Fall ( September to be exact).
  • Launch countries to inlcude the US, Canada, UK and France.

Lenovo MRT800Lenovo has officially unveiled their new touchscreen portable media player, the MRT800. The player features a 4.3-inch touchscreen LCD  display with a resolution of 480×272. As for codec support, it will include RMVB, AVI, ASF, MP4, and FLV for video, and MP3, WMA, OGG, APE, FLAC, and WAV on the audio side. Also, JPEG and  BMP will be supported for images. Other known features include an FM tuner, a voice recording function, and a microSD card slot. No word on pricing or availability yet.

Apple today brought some new updates to the iPod Touch, but nothing big. The new iPod Touch is now thinner than the first gen and sports a stainless steel case. Along with the steel case, Apple has also added external volume controls, an external speaker, Nike+ support, and a battery that gives you 36 hours of music and 6 hours of video. On the software side, the iPod Touch will now include the App Store and also features something new called the iTunes Genius, which creates a playlist of songs that go great together. This feature is also available in the new iPod Nano. As for pricing, the iPod Touch will cost $229 for 8Gb, $299 for 16GB, and $399 for 32GB.
