It’s no secret by now that Apples’ iOS devices will not play nice with flash and there is no hope for the future. However, with a little help using Javascript, you can play most flash videos that are usually just blank spaces when browsing a site on an iOS device. To do so, just follow the simple steps below and give it a try.

Open up Safari and go to “http://iosflashvideo.fw.hu/” on your iOS device.

Add this page as a bookmark by tapping the “+” button, then by “Add Bookmark” and hit “Save”.

Now go to your bookmarks in Safari and hit the “Edit” button and select “iOSFlashVideo” to edit it.

In the URL area, delete everything before “JavaScript” and hit Done.

Now visit any web page the has a flash video, usually there will be a blank white space on the page, and select “iOSFlashVideo” from your bookmarks.

If everything is done properly, your video should now load and you’ll be enjoying Flash videos without the need to Jailbreak your iOS device.

Dell’s 15.6-inch Vostro 1015, which was announced along with the Vostro 1014 and Vostro 1088 back in August, has just come out for purchase. The $429 base model gets a 2.2GHz Celeron 900 processor, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, a 160GB hard drive, and the downside, Windows Vista Home Basic. If you’re willing to smack down 200 more bills, coming in at $629, the dubbed performance package buys you a 2.1GHz Core 2 Duo T6670, 3GB of DDR2 RAM, a 320GB hard drive, Windows 7 Professional, dual-layer DVD burner, 2 megapixel webcam, integrated WiFi, GMA 4500MHD graphics and a 6-cell battery. This machine is stylish, surprisingly well equipped, and best of all affordable.

So you bought an upgrade copy of Windows 7 to save money or you got it for $30 with a student account. However, an upgrade is not cutting it for you and a clean install is just the thing you need. While the upgrade disc allows a clean install, you hit a roadblock with activation. At the SuperSite, Paul Thurrott, with the help of Kevin Fisher, has come up with the solution to activate Windows 7.

Ensure there are no Windows Updates pending. To check for this, look for an orange shield icon next to the Shutdown button in the Start Menu. If it’s there, reboot.

Open ‘regedit.exe’ from the Start Menu

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Setup/OOBE/

Change MediaBootInstall from ’1′ to ’0′

Open the Start Menu again and type ‘cmd’ — use ctrl+shift+enter to run it as an administrator

Type: slmgr /rearm – and press enter

Reboot

When Windows 7 reboots, run the Activate Windows utility and activate windows.
