Harman International announces the availability of the JBL Creature III, an updated version of the popular three-piece speaker system that was originally introduced in 2002.  The JBL Creature III’s new and improved design brings a more efficient, fresh feel while staying accurate to its sci-fi line. The subwoofer is now more compact, making it an easy count to any desk in your home, office, or business. Offered in black and white, these tasteful speakers also glow from the bottom. The Creature III is compatible with Mac and PC platforms, portable music players and gaming consoles. The suggested retail price is $129.99 and will be available exclusively at Apple retail stores.

Yesterday, Apple unveiled it’s all new iMac lineup featuring all-aluminum enclosures on 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMacs. With a 178-degree viewing angle and LED-backlit widescreen display, the 21.5-inch iMac has a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution and the 27-inch model has a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440. Internally,the low-end $1,199 21.5-inch model with a 3.06GHz Core 2 Duo, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics, 4GB of RAM and a 500GB drive, while the $1,499 model offering 1TB of storage and ATI Radeon HD 4670 graphics. The $1,999 27-inch model is a beast with 2.06GHz quad-core Core i5 processor (2.8GHz Core i7 will add $200 more) and Radeon HD 4850 graphics.

They added multitouch to their notebook and now Acer is bringing multitouch to their latest all-in-one, the Aspire Z5610. The all-in-one boasts a 23-inch 1920 x 1080 HD display, a dual-core Pentium E5300 2.60GHz, the ATI Mobility Radeon HD4570 512MB, 4GB of RAM,and a 320GB HDD. For multitouch, the all-in-one allows for two finger support for gestures such as rotating, swiping, and pinching to zoom. The Aspire Z5610 will also ship with Acer’s own TouchSuite and Microsoft’s Touch Pack. For just $899, the Aspire Z5610 will be available this holiday season.

At an NYC event today, Sony unveiled its new multitouch all-in-one, the VAIO L. Being Sony’s first multitouch PC, the VAIO L is being dubbed as part PC and part HDTV, with a TV tuner, Blu-ray playback, and a 24-inch WUXGA (1920×1080) widescreen panel. An option for HDMI input is available and the multitouch all-in-one will come loaded with Sony’s software similar to HP’s TouchSmart. Available October 22, this new VAIO will start at $1300.

It’s no secret that OEMs are loving the touch capabilities available in Windows 7 and while most have come out with touchscreen PCs, some manufacturers still have yet to announce anything. A manufacturer that can be added to the list of touchscreen PCs is Gateway. With the ZX6800 series and ZX4800 series, Gateway will ship these all-in-one desktops with Windows 7 along with their multitouch media tools. The specs for the ZX6810-01 include 23-inch multitouch LCD (1,920 x 1,080), 2.33GHz Core 2 Quad Q8200S CPU, 1GB ATI Radeon HD 4670 GPU, 8GB of DDR3 memory, and 8x slot-loading DVD burner. The desktops also ships with  a 1TB HDD (or 64GB SSD), WiFi, six USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet,  an eSATA socket. The ZX4800-02 will be available with a 20-inch LCD (1,600 x 900), a 2.1GHz T4300 CPU, 4GB of DDR2 RAM , GMA X4500HD integrated graphics, and a 750GB SATA HDD. Price will be $1,399.99 for the ZX6810-01 and $749.99 for the ZX4800-02.

Making it its first Ion-based nettop, LG introduces the XPION X30. This nettop packs an Atom N230 CPU, 2GB of RAM , and 250GB HDD. Shipping with Windows Vista, the XPION X30 weighs only 2.4lbs and consumes 40 watts of power. No word on Windows  7 for this machine yet, but we hope LG does the right thing.

Lenovo’s latest nettop, the C100, is released. The C100 features an 18.5-inch display, single or dual-core Atom processor, and runs Windows XP. This nettop is available now for just $400. However, sometime in October, Lenovo has plans to release a touchscreen version of the C100, utilizing the Windows 7 touch pack.

With Windows 7 right around the corner, PC makers are starting to come out with touch enabled devices. For Packard Bell, the release of oneTwo L and the oneTwo M brings them in the touch era. The all-in-one PCs include up to 8GB of Ram, a 5-in-1 memory card reader, webcam, and Packard Bell’s TouchGadgets. The oneTwo L includes a 23-inch (1600 x 900) display,  ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 graphics card, E-SATA, an optional Blu-ray drive, and a DVB TV tuner. The oneTwo M packs a 20-inch (1920 x 1080) display, Intel Core 2 Duo T6600, and ATI Mobility Radeon HD series 4500. Both PCs will be available October 22, with the oneTwo L priced at 999 Euros ($1,452) and the oneTwo M at 599 Euros ($872.) Jump after the break for a video of the PCs.

Not stopping with new hardware, Acer has announced its new desktops. The first is the new M5800, which packs a 2.66GHz Core 2 Quad with 8GB of RAM, a 740GB hard drive, 1.5GB GeForce GT230 graphics, and HDMI out. The price for this system is just $800. As for the M3800 and X3810, they ship with a 2.5GHz Pentium and integrated X4500 graphics. Prices for those models are $450 for the M3800 and $529 for the X3810.
