Last week, Nikon announced what would be the king of it’s class. Today, Canon is stealing the throne. With a couple of teaser videos and a website out earlier, Canon has officially announced the Canon EOS-1D Mark IV. Specs wise, the camera features a 16.1 megapixel APS-H CMOS sensor, 1080p HD video, ISO range of 100 to 12,800 expanded to 102,400 ISO (similar to Nikon’s D3), 45-point autofocus system with 39 high-precision cross-type focusing points, and dual Digic 4 processors. The market is definitely flooded with these pocket camcorders, but having more choices is always better. Today, Memorex released two of its own, the Memorex MyVideo (MCC221) and Memorex MyVideo HD (MCC225). Both camcorders feature an  integrated USB port, 2-inch LCD display, digital zoom, and an HDMI port. The MyVideo allows up to 2hrs of VGA quality footage on its 2GB of storage, while the MyVideo HD  shoots 1hr of 720p video on 4GB of storage. Both cameras also shoot stills, with the MyVideo snapping pics at VGA resolution and the MyVideo HD at 5-mexapixels. Battery life is around 5 hours for the MyVideo and half that amount for the MyVideo HD. The two cameras are available now, priced at $99.99 for the MyVideo and $129.99 for the MyVideo HD.

The specs were leaked, then after just one day, Nikon made official its latest DSLR, the Nikon D3s. Aimed at professional photographers, the Nikon D3s features an ISO range of 200 to 12,800,which can be extended to an incredible ISO 102,400, 12.1MP full-frame sensor, and 720p video at 24 frames per second. The camera also includes a 51-point autofocus and an improved 100% viewfinder. Available sometime in late November, the Nikon D3s will cost $5,199.95.

Shot as H.264 .MOV files, all video is stored on an SD card that you will have to buy. With that said, you can pick up a GC-FM1 for a price of $200.

Following the debut of the new K-x, Pentax has announced two new point-and-shoots, the Optio M85 and E85. Offered in a slim form factor, both cameras feature a 12 megapixel CCD sensor. The M85, also allows for 720p video, shake reduction, face detection, and has a 3-inch touchscreen. The lower end E85 has a 2.7-inch LCD and shoots video in VGA mode. Available in Europe next month, pricing is €179 ($263) for the M85 and €129 ($186) for the E85.

With this camera, we’re looking at 12.4 MP CMOS sensor, ISO of up to 12,800, 4.7 FPS continuous shooting, and 720p HD video at 24 FPS. Shipping in October with an 18-55mm lens and a color choice of red, blue, black or white, the Pentax K-x is priced at $650.

With the new LifeCam Cinema webcam, Microsoft is expected to release the first consumer HD webcam. The webcam will support 720p video at a resolution of 1,280×720. The LifeCam Cinema is made of aluminum and other features include a glass lens, 4x digital zoom, auto focus and a digital, noise-cancelling microphone, which is mounted on the top of the camera. The webcam also features Microsoft’s ClearFrame technology, which delivers smooth, detailed video. Expect this camera to be available September 9 for a price of $79.99.

Adding two new models to its HD Handycam line, Sony has unveiled the HDR-CX500V and the HDR-CX520V. The two models ship with a backlit CMOS sensor, shoot 1080p video, snap 12-megapixels still images, and include a built-in GPS for geotagging both photos and videos. Other features include face detection, three-way image stabilization, a six-blade aperture, and the ability to record AVCHD (H.264). The two models will also play nice with Mac apps like iMovie. The only difference between the two cameras is storage, with the CX500V offering 32GB flash memory and the CX520V having 64GB flash memory. Both models will be available in September for $1,100 and $1,300.

Announced during CES, RCA is finally releasing the EZ209HD. Coming in at around 0.5 inches thick, the EZ209HD captures video at a resolution of 1,280 x 720 (H.264) and still images at 8 megapixels. This camcorder also has a built-in HDMI connection and a 2” LCD display for instant viewing. As far as memory goes, this only offers 256MB of internal storage, so you would probably need an SDHC card if you want to shoot video longer than 5 minutes. The EZ209HD is shipping to retailers now and will cost under $100.
