Sony CX500V

Adding two new models to its HD Handycam line, Sony has unveiled the HDR-CX500V and the HDR-CX520V. The two models ship with a backlit CMOS sensor, shoot 1080p video, snap 12-megapixels still images, and include a built-in GPS for geotagging both photos and videos. Other features include face detection, three-way image stabilization, a six-blade aperture, and the ability to record AVCHD (H.264). The two models will also play nice with Mac apps like iMovie. The only difference between the two cameras is storage, with the CX500V offering 32GB flash memory and the CX520V having 64GB flash memory. Both models will be available in September for $1,100 and $1,300.
