At CommunicAsia 2009 held at the Singapore Expo, Haier showed off its first Android powered mobile handset. The phone will run Android OS 1.5 at launch. However, the company has stated if by launch Android OS 2.0 (Donut) is available, they will ship the phone with the second build of Android. The phone is set to feature a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, built-in GPS, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, FM Radio, and a 2 megapixel camera with flash. The phone is set to launch sometime in September in France for a price tag of $150 (US).
